Take the First Steps to Creating your Own Digital Twin

Take the First Steps to Creating your Own Digital Twin

Digital twin technology is crucial for improving sustainability and competitive advantage in the shift to Industry 4.0. Creating a digital representation of a physical asset and using IoT technology to connect it to the cloud, allows for low cost predictive maintenance, extensive remote monitoring and even real-time optimisation of machinery and processes. Digital twins also facilitate efficient Product Life-cycle Management. A traditional barrier to digital twinning has been high engineering and development costs, meaning that these benefits have not been readily available to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Technological advances are now making it possible to create digital twins quickly and easily. Eclipse Arrowhead partner Jotne’s 3 Click Digital Twin harnesses the potential of STEP standards (such as ISO10303) and open source Eclipse Arrowhead software to make digital twin technology easily accessible without barriers of significant time and resource investments.

Two workshops on 27th and 29th September (14:00-16:00 CET, 2 sessions) will demonstrate how you can create your own digital twin in a matter of days rather than months.

By providing an overview of ISO10303 concepts and how these can be integrated with IoT to achieve a dynamic interoperable framework, the workshop will demonstrate how you can use existing CAD and PLM to launch your digital twin. Bring your own STEP files to test it out.
